    Abstract: 本論文從消旋的2-乙基己酸經光學分割、還原反應和碘化反應製得(R)-1-碘-2-乙基己烷(16),在Ag2O的作用下它和(S)-乳酸乙酯經由醚化反應生成掌性有機酸乙酯(17),再經還原反應就得到具有兩個不對稱中心的新穎有機醇(18)(2(S)-[2(R)-乙基己氧基]丙醇),經由酯化反應,掌性有機醇(18)與含聯苯環或含?環的核心分子進行酯化反應合成出六個新穎化合物19∼24。
    化合物 19、21的液晶相順序為K─SC*─SA─I,化合物20、22的液晶相順序為K─S?─SC*─SA─I;在自發極化值方面,化合物19∼22分別為19 nC/㎝2(88.1℃)、22nC/㎝2(91.0℃)、20 nC/㎝2(104.5℃)、19 nC/㎝2(101.5℃)。
    化合物23、24的核心分子為?環結構,化合物23不具液晶相,化合物24只有一個液晶相SA,將核心由聯苯結構換成?環結構竟對液晶相行為造成如此大的影響,這與本實驗室之前的研究有很大的不同。
    A new chiral organic alcohol(18), 2(S)-[2(R)-ethylhexoxyl] propanol was synthesized and used as a chiral moiety for the preparation of ferroelectric liquid crystals. The chiral starting material, (R)-1-iodo-2-ethylhexane(16), was synthesized from racemic 2-ethylhexanoic acid by optical resolution, reduction and iodination. The new chiral propionic ester(17) was prepared by the etherification of natural ethyl lactate with 16 in the presence of Ag2O. After reduction of 17 the new chiral propanol (18) was formed.
    The new ferroelectric liquid crystal 19~22 were synthesized by the esterification of the new chiral organic alcohol(18) and the carboxylic acid derivative containing biphenyl ring 5~8. The liquid crystal phase sequence of the compound 19、21is K─Sc*─SA─I. The liquid crystal phase sequence of the compound 20、22 is K─S?─SC*─SA─I.Their Ps values are 19 nC/㎝2(for 19)、22nC/㎝2(for 20)、20 nC/㎝2(for 21)、and 19 nC/㎝2(for 22)。
    The other new chiral compounds 23~24 were synthesized by the esterification of the new chiral organic alcohol(18) and the carboxylic acid derivative containing naphthalene ring 11~12. The compound 23 has no liquid crystal phase,while the compound 24 possesses only one liquid crystal phase, SA phase. The influence of the core molecule on the liquid crystal phase behavior is enormous for these two series of compounds.
