    Abstract: 為了要得到具有二個掌性中心分子的掌性末端基,先將含S立體結構的乳酸乙酯與(S)-1-碘-2-乙基己烷(10)反應後,再經還原反應衍生而得到具有兩個碳不對稱中心的2(S)-[2(S)-乙基己氧基]丙醇(12)。而(S)-1-碘-2-乙基己烷(10)是由消旋的2-乙基己酸(6)歷經光學分割、還原反應、硫醯基化反應和碘化反應而製得。
    將掌性醇(12)與核心分子為聯苯環的衍生物(5a-d)進行酯化反應,得到液晶分子13-16。
    To getting the new chiral terminal group with two chiral centers, 2(S)-[2(S)-ethylhexyloxy]propanol(12)was synthesized by the etherification of natural (S)-ethyl lactate and (S)-1-iodo-2-ethylhexane(10)as well as the reduction of the ester (11) formed.The pure (S)-1-iodo-2-ethylhexane(10)was prepared from 2-ethylhexanoic acid by optical resolution, reduction, tosylation, and iodination.
    New liquid crystal compounds, 13-16, were synthetized from the chiral organic alcohol (12) and the carboxylic acid derivative containing biphenyl ring(5a-d).
